Positivity during a world pandemic

Learn how we can ensure positivity during this very dark world pandemic of Covid-19. Many of you around the world may be stuck at home during lockdown and wondering how you can spend your time during quarantine. Families have been separated, holidays cancelled and flights suspended. It can be hard to be happy when suddenly it is such a strange world out there. But there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. And every cloud has a silver lining. Here is what you can do to lighten up the mood:

Postpone, don’t cancel:

But of course, we still have brighter days coming ahead of us where we can all go back to hugging and holding hands. We will go back to booking flights and going on new adventures. It is just a matter of time. So now that you have a lot of time in hand, start planning for your next trip. Where do you want to go? What are you going to tick off your bucket list when all this is over? Is it going to be an African Safari to discover the Big Five? Or maybe climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. The world is your oyster, get your diary out and start jotting down options!

Spend time with family:

Whether or not you are with your loved ones right now, use this time to catch up, to speak to them and ask how they are doing. Nothing more important than family. With video calling we can be with anyone we want virtually. Thank God for that!

Time to indulge in that hobby or activity you never had time for:

Time is a luxury many do not have. We are always too ‘busy’ for anything else other than work. Well, now that you do have the time, start on that project you always wanted to work on. Or start a new hobby. Build a tree house, knit a sweater, take online art classes, read that book you have been waiting to read. The list is endless.

Declutter:

Have you heard that decluttering actually brings in positive energy to a space? Use your time to clear your home. Organize everything and get rid of anything you will not use or need in the future.

Exercise:

Exercise is the medicine to the mind, body and soul. If you truly care for your health, dedicate an hour of your day to exercise. It will boost your mood – AND reduce stress. It is a given that the current circumstances have been causing a lot of anxiety. Try an online Yoga class or simply go cycling and see how it can transform your mental health.

Social media cleanse:

Fake news about the corona virus is causing a lot of panic, therefore, limit your time on phones. Avoid social media and only read news from credible sources.
